My vista OS is no longer genuine, now I have to reinstall/validate it ... but i probably won't because I am that lazy.
At work, I see a lot of news stories, and they often use the world *literally* wrong, now as I'm sure you know by now I'm not a stickler for proper grammar, however this is more about consistency than sounding arrogant and controlling. Inside these stories they'll say things like.. "she literally went to heaven on earth", unless they went to some mid-west city named Heaven or died after accepting Jesus Christ as their personal lord and savior, then.. that spa treatment wasn't literally heaven on Earth. So in protest, I'm going to start using the word figuratively when literally would be more appropriate.

Кошка прижала уши и приоткрыла один глаз. Уже несколько минут Будильник дергал ее за хвост, но она притворялась, что ничего не чувствует. Солнце карабкалось по небу все выше, первые его лучи уже просочились сквозь кружевную штору и уютно расположились на подоконнике. Через минуту, максимум две, первый из них, самый непоседливый и наглый, обязательно впрыгнет в кошкину постель, чтобы щекотать нос и путаться в шерсти...
Заметив на мгновение раскрывшийся глаз, Будильник подбежал к самой кошковой мордочке и попытался приподнять прижатое ухо:
- Пора! Давно пора! Лежебока-лежебока-лежебока, - голосил он звонко.
И тут же получил лапой по шапочке. Улыбнувшись в усы, Кошка перевернулась на другой бок и тихонько замурчала.
- Между прочим, - Будильник обиделся. - Между прочим, это не у меня дела. И планы тоже не у меня. И заботы-хлопоты, и вообще.
- Можно, я положу тебя под подушку? - пробормотала Кошка и тут же заснула.

I think this might be an old old topic, but the idea of someone who blinks slowly is funny to me. Imagine a person who it took a one mississippi count for them to blink everytime, I'd laugh.

Bobby sees a kid running while working at notices his shoes are untied, "Hey kid, your shoes are untied." Kid looks at Bobby's shoes and at Bobby, but Bobby sees this and comments further, "Sorry, they're tied..." Having been topped the kid bends down and ties his shoes.
and possibly the craziest story...
At the Brogan we have a crappy alien exhibit, and on display is a fake rubber alien. Now I've had kids come up to me and tell me, "The alien winked at me." or, "The alien said my name." but today I had a good one. This little fourth grade girl came in this huge elevator with her class and turned to her classmate and said, "The alien told me to kill the jews." I just looked at her and looked around to see if anyone else heard this while saying, "Jesus!" really loudly.

У ежика Максима была одна страсть - солнце. Часами готов был он глазеть на небо сквозь темное стеклышко, а вечерами без умолку болтать о том, насколько прекрасно оно и безупречно.
- Подумаешь, газовый пузырь, - фыркали гуси и чувствовали себя при этом очень просвященными.
Но засыпая, Максим все равно представлял себе светило золотым. Или просто очень драгоценным.
Однажды ночью фея с прозрачными как у стрекозы крыльями явилась ежику во сне:
- Хочешь, я покажу тебе Его поближе? - предложила она.
Разумеется Максим хотел. Он покрепче ухватил волшебницу за руку, и они полетели к облакам, за облака, и в самый космос. Об опасностях, подстерегавших их в пути, и удивительных приключениях ежик хотел бы рассказать всем-всем, но желание это пропадало, когда он представлял, как гуси фыркают:
- Фантазер! - и остальные звери смеются.
Наконец, они добрались.
- Что это? - удивился Максим.
- Солнце - газовый пузырь, - отозвалась фея, и ежик заплакал от обиды и разочарования...
...и в слезах проснулся.
- Так это был просто сон! - с этих пор Максим перестал верить в волшебных фей.

Все кроты как кроты: ползали по гномьим подземельям, подбирали опалы да рубины, лишь Оливер собирал битое стекло. Собирал и относил к морю, и бросал в волны, смотрел грустными глазами, а потом шел по берегу, низко опустив голову. Наткнувшись на омытое водой гладкое стеклышко, кротик загадочно улыбался. Он был странный, этот Оливер.

This November, Amnesty International of FGCU is bringing back its critically acclaimed human rights film festival: Rights Nights. On the nights of November 5th, 12th, 19th, and 24th; Amnesty International will be hosting viewings of some great films that are related to human rights. After each viewing, Amnesty International will be mediating a discussion relating to the ideas and concepts presented in the film. Be sure to come out and enjoy some fantastic films while learning more about the world that we live in.
(Nov 12th, this Wednesday, from 7-9pm, in Reed Hall 249 at FGCU) Señorita Extravaganza is a film about the situation in Mexico where innocent women are kidnapped, raped and murdered. The murders first came to light in 1993 and young women continue to disappear to this day.
